CC5 home page For CC4 customers
What do you need to know?
As we introduce CC5 to the education world, our immediate priority is to help our CC4 customers. RM will stop providing CC4 software and security updates from October 2025, so it’s important that you start planning for the future of your network. This also ties in with Microsoft’s announcement to stop supporting Windows 10.
Are you ready for CC5?
CC5 will be compatible with Windows 11 devices. One of the first things you might like to check is whether your school is ready for CC5. For our existing CC4 customers, we have created a device readiness checker that you can run on your CC4 networks.
This tool will generate a report that shows your device readiness.

What if you have incompatible devices?
Our advice is to procure devices that are compatible with Windows 11 to future-proof your devices as best as possible. You can shop compatible devices on our online store here. If you would prefer to speak to somebody then you can contact us through the rm.com website, Or send an email to getintouch@rm.com.

What if you don’t have the budget for new devices?
Microsoft have announced that they will be providing Extended Security Updates (ESU) for Windows 10 devices beyond the October 2025 end of life date. This is suitable for those customers that are looking to squeeze an extra bit of life out of their current devices, but we must stress that this is not a long-term solution and is intended to help customers who can’t make the move immediately. On writing this webpage, we are still waiting for Microsoft to release pricing for the UK market.

Supporting CC4 beyond October
For any customers that aren’t able to make the switch before October 2025, we will continue to support customers that have Windows 10 ESU if they commit to making the switch to CC5 by taking out a new license with us. The upkeep of our customer networks is of great importance to us so we’re pleased to offer this option to those customers that need it.
CC5 pricing
Our team can help you in understanding what the estimated cost for CC5 and the installation will be.
Step 1
Provide you with an indicative price. This is intended to help you plan your budgets over the coming months.
To receive your indicative price, you will need to contact your account manager if you have one, or get in touch with us through our contact form.
To help us process your request effectively, we would recommend that you prepare the following information:
At your school:

Number of servers
Number of clients
Collecting this information will help us handle your enquiry as swiftly as possible.
Another point of discussion that will impact your price is the work required to install CC5. Some parts you may wish to do yourself, and some you may like some assistance from RM. We will talk you through these items as part of your indicative price.
Step 2
To help us process your request effectively, we would recommend that you prepare the following information:
What happens and when?
We are aiming to start our first installations from April 2025. When receiving your indicative quote, it is advised that you start considering at what point your installation can happen. Unlike other projects, CC5 installation can happen during term time with minimal disruption. Speak with our advisors to schedule in provisional installations as the first step. When speaking to our solutions architects at step 2, we can confirm the estimated installation time and when the work will happen.
