In light of the most recent lockdown and the majority of UK primary and secondary schools and trusts returning to remote learning, RM Education is extending its Service Desk hours in order to guarantee that all education professionals can access the technical support and advice they need while working remotely – even outside of school hours.
From the 18th January, RM Education will be extending Service Desk core hours to 7am – 10pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. This will help schools needing urgent access to technical help when they need it, which with remote learning can often be required into the evening. This is part of RM Education’s ongoing dedication to reviewing how best to support customers during this period.
James Greene, Head of Field Operations at RM Education: “We know from the first lockdown that most IT support requests can be resolved remotely, and we are dedicated to extending this support further during the lockdown. We understand that many teachers are balancing supporting vulnerable children and children of key workers in schools, whilst running a timetable of remote lessons for pupils at home, and so IT tasks may be pushed into the evening. That’s why as long as teachers require our technical advice and support, our remote engineering teams in the UK and India will be available to meet our customers’ needs. We will continue to resolve normal requests during standard hours, reserving these extended hours for the type of query that needs resolution immediately.”
In addition to this, on-site support from RM engineers will continue for trusts and schools where needed.
RM Education has also recorded a series of webinars and videos to help trusts and schools get to grips with remote learning, which can be accessed on our website here: https://www.rm.com/education/covid-19
