Salford Local Authority trusts RM Education with ICT services and innovation for almost a decade
With 89% of schools across Salford Local Authority being satisfied with RM Education, renewing the contract repeatedly since 2010 and until 2020 was a straightforward commercial decision. Here we find out how Salford Local Authority and RM Education work together and the benefits experienced by the schools in the area.
Salford Local Authority looks after 77 primary schools, 14 secondary schools and five special schools, with Contracts Manager Terry Walsh overseeing the relationships with RM Education. Salford Local Authority began working with RM in 2010 during a Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project where an ICT managed service was required. RM beat several other companies during the tender process and won the contract. Since then, even without BSF, the relationship has gone from strength to strength and continued with two further extensions. In 2015 it went through a full and rigorous procurement process underpinned by the Crown Commercial Service vehicle.
